2007 and 2008 were NOT the year to get low rates on jumbo loans for Minnesota properties. There was a large interest rate premium for jumbo (non-conforming) products. However, 2009 is a new year and rates for Jumbo mortgages have come down. In fact I just refinanced a jumbo mortgage for a past client and locked him in UNDER 5%. Yes, under 5%!
This refinance was a 3/1 arm at 4.95% and there were no closing costs. You read that right, no closing costs on jumbo loans! I helped my soon to be brother in law refinance his walkout rambler in May Township, MN this fall. Alex Shuda, from Alex’s Lawn/Turf and www.CreateYourDreamscape.com dropped his interest rate a full point the first time around and this time we are dropping another FULL Percentage Point!
