Mistake 1: Change in jobs…this isn’t a deal killer if you are getting promoted or even make a lateral move. But beware that it could cause a delay because sometimes mortgage companies will make you “prove” your actual employment by waiting for a paycheck.
Mistake 2: Opening up a bunch of new credit…some banks let us use our credit reports and some require they use their own for quality control. If you have a bunch of new credit/debt that could cause your credit score to drop or if there are payments they could cause your debt to income ratios to get too high. Wait til the loan is done before you do anything!
